Traffic jam excercise

Having Facebook page and Twitter profile up and active is great, but what happens if nobody is visiting? I mean if a tree falls in the forest and nobody is around to hear it, does it really make a sound? The point is, it’s online TRAFFIC that really makes all your hard work worthwhile. When people are showing up to your social sites, they’re far more likely to then visit you website, blog, click your ads, buy your products, sign up for your newsletter or take whatever action applies that generates revenue for you.

Exposure is EVERYTHING, so think of as many creative ways as possible to promote your social networks. There’s no such thing as TOO MANY visitors! The worst that could happen is you might have to buy better hosting to accommodate the traffic. And trust us, it’ll be worth your while when that day comes. So, spread the word!

Here are 4 Offline Ways to Get More Facebook Fans and Twitter Followers:

1. All Direct Mail should include social icons. This should include a variety of:

Postcards

Letters

Letterhead

Envelopes

Business Cards (obviously, I hope!)

Print Ads

Rack Cards

Brochures

2. Do a solo promo postcard mailing announcing your new Facebook page. You should be creating synergy and teaching your clients and customers HOW to play with you online.

3. Create signage in your stores that tells all of your customers that you've gone social! On a budget? Print off small flyers and include them in all customer bags.

4. Make a car decal with your Twitter handle. Okay, so this is only going to work if you have service trucks or company vehicles, but it's a creative way to get you more attention.

Be on the lookout for ways other people share or promote their links and don’t be afraid to follow suit.
