We celebrated my daddy's 61st birthday Sunday. We were our usual weird selves.
Dad's tools were recently stolen and I suspect sold for crack, so he got him some new ones.
Dad laughed at all his funny cards, except mine, which was the only sentimental one.
Apparently I wasn't given the memo for the funny card theme.
Dad got more cool tools…
And a "hottie" book for old people apparently.
My niece Layla stuck paper up her shirt and said she had a "bun in the oven."
And brother-in-law Colby read the elderly "hottie" book,
While dad opened his very serious scholarly "Faith Beyond Reason" Kierkegaard book.
My nephew Royal had some sweet hair,
And dad finally got a shit list notepad so he could send his kids love notes.
Dad really loved his amazon gift card,
But maybe didn't get how athletic he would feel in his new Sheex sheets.
When dad opened his new sandals from us,
Mom was like, "Hey wait a minute! Memory foam! Guys!" (that's her arm grabbing for them.)
She was super jealous.
Dad seemed MORE than thrilled about his outdoor speakers,
And Andrew had a halo over his head. Figures, as he was the only one who went to church this morning.
Johanna was her usual sweet self,
And I was my usual "don't-feel-like-doing-my-hair-so-I-think-I'll-sport-a-headband" self.
And all the guys were jealous of my brother-in-law Evan because he has such a sweet beard.
My sister Kayla gave us a lesson in extreme couponing and told us how she got an $11 bottle of Clairtin for $.75 with her register rewards and other coupons.
To the greatest, most loving father, mentor and friend.
I love you.
